About this place
Along a shopping street in Shiba, Minato Ward, Kamo Sushi has served as a welcoming neighborhood sushi parlor for more than 40 years. At lunchtime, a prime attraction for many diners is the Tonosama Chirashi. Seafood such as tuna, squid, and cured mackerel covers the bowl alongside tamagoyaki omelet, fried tofu pockets, kamaboko fish cake, and simmered vegetables. Guests can select large, medium, or small portions of sushi rice to suit their appetite.
For those who prefer nigiri, midday options include a 9-piece set as well as a 1.5-portion nigiri serving. The gently seasoned rice is shaped to a balanced size under fresh toppings, handed over with a personal word from the master chef detailing the day's recommended cuts. Accompanied by a bowl of miso soup in the style of a traditional set meal, it provides an unpretentious, hearty lunch.
In the evening, the menu highlights small dishes that pair naturally with sake, alongside assorted sashimi platters. In addition to classic sashimi cuts, carefully prepared simmered dishes that concentrate rich fish flavors—such as simmered yellowtail liver or simmered fish trimmings—offer comforting accompaniments to drinks. An Otsukaresama Set pairing beer with sashimi or nigiri is also available, making the shop a practical spot to drop by after work.
The interior offers counter seating, booth-style tables, and raised tatami seating, accommodating solo diners as readily as relaxed group gatherings. With support for takeout orders and advance reservations, the restaurant remains a dependable neighborhood option for both everyday lunches and leisurely evening dining.
